This is a university project. As part of a cooperation with Queensland University from Australia, mockups including a promo video on the topic of "ModBox" were created in a partner project. "Modbox" is a new way of boxing to make it in turn accessible to the masses.
Beneath you can see the process and the results.
The students of Queensland University have developed a prototype that is fun for the user and at the same time improves their motoric skills, responsiveness, endurance and coordination. To develop this idea further and make it usable, a user interface was needed.
This approach was chosen to generate the best outcome focusing on the user himself. It is a neverending circle because you can’t tell how many times you need to go through each state.
the solutions need to be validated and tested. New insights will appear.
the corresponding problems need to be solved.
a prototype with a different approach is provided.
first, personas were created. these represent the target group and help legitimize design decisions. Since the product should be usable for every persona in the end, it is important to consider their needs from the beginning and to put them in the center.
the wireframes help to get a feel for layout, logic and interaction. Later on the user flow was tested with a paper prototype.
Insights:
the idea was to install the ball machine in different fitness studios. to start a training session you can check in with your account and a qr code, which is attached to the machine itself, and start different levels.
The moodboard is a visual inspiration of pictures that lead the design into a certain direction. Also transfers a vibe that the further design hopefully follows.
after all these steps the final prototype coul be created.
